About Our Company
The Hocking Hills Resort, was founded in 1992 by the Strickland Family, Randy, Melody, Joshua, Adam and Keith. At that time we were known as Ash Cave Cabins, and started with only three cabins, our Cedar Vacation Homes.
In 1996 the company expanded it's business by opening our Jack-in-the-Pulpit room which allowed us to expand from just cabins to overnight lodging, business retreats, wedding receptions, or any special event that our customers might want.
Two Year past and demand for smaller, more personal, cabins had become the most requested expansion idea from our customers. With this being what our customers wanted Randy and Melody set to work on the Love Bug Cabins. Finalization of the Love Bug Cabins was achieved in Spring of 1999.
The idea for an upscale restaurant for the Hocking Hills was imagined in 2000 and brought to fruition in 2001 by the creation of the Grouse Nest Restaurant expansion of the Hocking Hills Resort. With the expansion of the Grouse Nest Restaurant brought the ability to cater events on-site to our Jack-in-the-Pulpit room and off-site to other destinations for numerous of events.
With a spark of originality and a twist on the catering aspect of the Grouse Nest Restaurant, Randy and Melody birth the innovative creation of the Grouse Nest Traveling Chef. Providing gourmet food prepared by the specially trained chef's of the Grouse Nest Restaurant and served in the privacy and comfort of the cabin of your choice during your vacation in the Hocking Hills. The Grouse Nest Traveling Chef has become the ideal way to celebrate that special time in your life.
In 2005, Ash Cave Cabins was forever changed by the addition of the Hocking Hills Chapel. With this final addition the transformation of Ash Cave Cabins to Hocking Hills Resort was complete. Now we have availability to have your families stay in our Cedar Vacation Homes, cabins for couples with our Love Bug Cabins, business retreats and small events in our Jack-in-the-Pulpit room, Fine dining in the Grouse Nest Restaurant, a personal chef just for you by the Grouse Nest Traveling Chef, and larger events and weddings in the Hocking Hills Chapel.
Over all the past 12 years have been exciting and busy for our family owned and operated company that all started with the dream of one couple to bring a relaxing and secluded atmosphere for families and couples a like to vacation in while enjoying the natural beauty of the Hocking Hills.
